Conference emphasizes accessible transport for all.

International experts exchanged ideas, research and practical applications of sustainable transport at the second annual TRANSIST 2011 conference on November 28 to December 2 in Istanbul.
The aim of “Public Transportation Week” was to encourage people to use public transportation, raise awareness about sustainable transport among children, and train municipalities on proper strategies for urban infrastructure.
The event was organized by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and IETT, the public bus company.

Mümin Kahveci, the former general manager of IETT acknowledged Sibel Bulay as the thought leader of Istanbul Metrobus before her presentation about a vision for the Historic Peninsula.
